Once again the magic cross of Donnerhall over a Pik Bube mare, but this time with the added dressage dash of Romadour II, sire of the great Rembrandt and grandsire of Rubinstein. Dream of Glory scored 146 points for rideability for his performance test, the best of his year, to finish fourth over all at Medingen (he also confirmed the feelings about the Donnerhall's lack of jumping ability, finishing in 28th place in the jumping test with 93.17). In 1994 he competed in novice and elementary level dressage competitions, and qualified for the 1995 Bundeschampionate. In 2000, he started seven times with Anja Hermelink, gaining four wins and three placings up to Intermediaire level. He was competing Grand Prix before his untimely death.
Dream of Glory was extremely successful as a sire, with numerous representatives at the Bundeschampionate, all showing that Dream of Glory had that most important quality as a sire - he stamps his offspring with his ‘look’, his offspring are seemingly all cute as, good moving and with great rideability. In the FN dressage evaluations for 1999, Dream of Glory led the younger stallions, with a ranking of 164. In the 1999 competition season, 32 of his progeny placed 124 times at novice, elementary and medium level. His son, Dreamy’s Dream is a Bundeschampionate winner, while Dr Jackson, is a Bundeschampionate reserve champion. Daidalos in a Hanoverian Riding Horse Champion, the South-Hanoverian champion is Daily News and Dream Dancer is Bavarian champion. His daughter Daisy Dee was the top selling horse at the Equitop Verden auction, sold for DM78,000 to the UK, while Doreen topped the Hessen auction at DM55,000.
The 2007 Hanoverian Stallion Book, shows Dream of Glory with an FN dressage ranking of 142 and a Hanoverian dressage ranking of 145. At that time he had 564 horses in competition, including 23 S level competitors, and winnings of Euro 192,183. The most successful competitor was Dionysos with earnings of Euro 11,845. He was the sire of four licensed sons, one of whom is Daidalos, sire of Dresemann, who has been very successful in young horse classes.
DREAM OF GLORY was licensed with glory - this news spread like a wildfire. Mares from all over the country were enrolled. The Alsenhof stallions were frequented as never before, RITUAL and CAPITOL II already since long - and now DREAM OF GLORY followed. At the end of July 1993, the serious part of DREAM OF GLORY's life began: the stallion performance test on Klosterhof Medingen was meant to reveal the real quality of the Donnerhall - Pik Bube I - Romadour son. The result was as desired: "DREAM OF GLORY", the dream of a stallion, finished with an exceptional result: winner of dressage and rideability tests with a score of nearly 150 points. The first DREAM OF GLORY foals were born. He predominantly passes his beautiful conformation and his dark colour on to his offspring - and his exceptional movement qualities. His foals are treated and traded on auctions like jewels. Two pretty black DREAM OF GLORY offspring, for example, changed the owner at DM 45,000. and DM 32,000. respectively - on PSI auction. DREAM OF GLORY offspring are in the front line - at shows and stallion licensing, at auctions and in sport. Like he himself: He does not only acquire a top position in the FN yearbook, he is also already a fixed institution in sport with Anja Hermelink. Although the couple only meets twice a week in Hamburg-Rissen for training purposes, DREAM OF GLORY and Anja achieved 11 victories and highest placements in 1999 in dressage competitions up to advanced level, Prix St. George and Intermediare. For these performances and for his prepotency, DREAM OF GLORY was awarded the "stallion of the year" on the occasion of PSI auction 1999
.Donnerhall
is the most successful dressage horse in the world and looks back on an exemplary career. He managed like no other sire of his generation to combine success in breeding and in sport alike. It is nearly impossible to provide a complete survey of Donnerhall’s breeding record here, as it would necessitate the writing of a separate book. In Germany alone he has produced over 50 approved stallion sonsand more than 35 State Premium Mares.

When a colt by Donnerwetter out of Ninette by Markus-Carnot was born at Otto Gärtner's stud farm in Wenstein, Holstein on the 30th of May 1981, no-one could have imagined that the dark chestnut who was later christened Donnerhall, would one day stage a triumphant march through the equestrian world like no stallion before him. What's more, no other stallion has ever come close to achieving what the chocolate coloured chestnut Donnerhall managed in such a convincing manner, namely, the symbiosis of the dual qualities of being a successful competition sports horse and on the other hand being a top grade breeding horse. It was undoubtedly an encounter determined by destiny, that Donnerhall grew up on the memorable Otto Schulte-Frohlinde's Grönwoldhof studfarm.

At the 1998 World Championships in Rome, Karin Rehbein and the meanwhile 17-year old stallion were once more part of the German gold medal team and gained an excellent fourth place in the individual rating. His sporting successes, substantiated by his life winnings of around DM 640,000 are no less significant than his importance as a hereditary transmitter. His breeding tally includes 77 approved sons, while of the more than 450 registered mares, 84 were awarded the state premium, including the champion mares Primavera and Hallo. In excess of 300 progeny have moreover been registered as sports horses. Donnerhall's last public appearance under his rider Karin Rehbein at the gala evening of the 1998 Oldenburg approval, where children with lanterns formed a narrow passage through which Donnerhall strode magnificently, remains a warm and unforgettable memory. From that time onwards, he only fulfilled his duties as a sire at the Grönwohldhof, where his remarkable career had begun. On the 14Th of January 2002, Donnerhall perished from acute intestinal toxicopathy. Donnerhall, who was already a legend during his own lifetime has passed away but his memory lingers on....
