PHOENIX NATIONAL STUD TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please ensure mares arrive at the stud without hind shoes , no mare will be covered or turned out with other stock whilst wearing hinds, The cost in removal of shoes will be added to your account.
All mares , livery , competition horses should attend the stud with no less than an up to date tetanus record and preferably a flu & tet record.
All mares , livery , competition horses will be wormed on arrival and regularly thereafter at the cost of the owner.
Veterinary assistance will be obtained at the discretion of the staff , costs incurred will be added to the owners account.
The resident farrier ( Steve Hughes ) will attend to all horses present at the yard when necessary , costs will be added to the owners account.
Mares will only be covered if in receipt of a current clean swab certificate in relation to the current transmittable diseases e.g. C.E.M , HERPES , E.V.A etc This can be done at the stud if required , costs chargeable to the owners account.
Mares will only be covered on receipt of a correctly filled in nomination form , these are available on contact with the stud .
The Stud fee is payable at the time of nomination other than for those who have prior accounts arranged . .Accounts for stud fees , keep fees , and any other will be presented monthly and the balance must be paid (and cleared ) prior to collection of the mare. For those who would like to spread the costs of their account a direct debit mandate can be set up to accommodate such payments . Interest will be added monthly to unpaid accounts.
No foal free return is offered to mares holding an empty cert Oct 1st current season.
Facilities for A.I are available.
If semen is required at least 48 hours notice is required and alternative arrangements for transportation by the owner if semen is required on Sunday or Mondays.
Equitainers are available for hire at reasonable rates and transport costs vary with distance.
Every care will be taken whilst the horse is in our charge but no responsibility will be taken for accident , theft or disease . Owners accept that they must have their own insurance in place for horses left at the stud and the stud therefore holds no liability .
Pregnancy diagnosis - mares will be examined by a veterinary surgeon at any time after 14 days of covering and a positive cert will be provided , if removed from stud prior to pregnancy diagnosis a positive cert must be supplied to the stud before any covering certificates will be released.
Horses placed with the stud for resale on a clients behalf will be charged at the appropriate livery fee and a charge of ten percent of the sale price will be added to the owners accounts . Accounts must be paid in full before renumeration will occur or the account will be deducted from the sale price.
If purchasing a horse or pony from the stud , whilst we endeavor to sell you a match for your requirements we can only do so with your full honesty about your ability and intentions with the horse . And whilst we will advise you of the current care routine , tack etc for the horse we can not guarantee that the horse will respond exactly if these circumstances are changed ( bare in mind horses are a living animal with a personality not a programmable machine ) . We are as always available for guidance and assistance where required .
